Research Solutions forms clinical research alliance with southern Maryland Multi-specialty Group

Little Rock, Ark. – Research Solutions, LLC, a rapidly growing national site management organization (SMO), announces continued site expansion, forming a clinical research relationship with Calvert Internal Medicine Group in Prince Frederick, Maryland. The partnering of Calvert Internal Medicine and Research Solutions will serve the growing needs of pharmaceutical companies conducting studies in multi-specialty areas, serving communities in southern Maryland.

Calvert Internal Medicine is a 20-provider internal medicine group with primary care and specialist practitioners. The group was founded in 1981 and has steadily grown throughout its history. It has a primary care base of about 27,000 patients, serving 1 in 3 adults in Calvert County, Maryland. It has 3 locations in Calvert, and has subspecialists in cardiology, gastroenterology, allergy, endocrinology, allergy, pulmonary, and infectious diseases.

Calvert County is a suburb of Washington, DC, with a population of approximately 85,000. Despite its historical base as a rural area, the majority of the population now commutes outside the county, many towards the DC metro area. It has one of the highest median incomes of any Maryland county. The group sees some of its patients from the other Southern Maryland counties, Charles and St. Mary's.

“Our investigator site alliance with the Calvert Group provides patients in Prince Frederick and surrounding communities with the opportunity to participate in important national studies,” said David J. Jones, Chief Executive Officer, Research Solutions, continuing, “We’re always excited to manage clinical research studies that carry the promise of providing new treatments to patients in need.”

Research Solutions partners with community-based physicians providing direct support services including overall study management, regulatory, budgets, patient recruitment, quality assurance, research staff, study tracking and reporting. Patient services include centralized patient recruitment media campaigns and a central call center.
